The woman is relatively young, just 31 years old, but her almost complete lack of teeth makes it hard for her to get a job. She has only three teeth left in her lower jaw, which would be a challenge for anyone trying to get a job. To make matters worse, the woman only has a high school diploma, so the only jobs in her community that she is qualified for are retail and food service jobs, where her appearance is an even further liability.
Without a job, the woman and her two sons, ages 6 and 2, are dependent on her boyfriend, who is employed, but has a seasonal job. In a good month, he makes about $800. In a bad month, he makes none. The family gets about $505 a month in food stamps. Even living in small town West Virginia, it’s hard to support a family with that kind of income.
The Charleston Daily Mail is requesting $310 to help the woman cover the cost of a lower plate of economy dentures. Medicaid will also help by covering the cost of extracting woman’s last three teeth.
You may not be in as dire straits as this woman, but that doesn’t mean that a smile isn’t a professional asset for you. Every time you work with people, they are judging your smile, and, like it or not, your smile is likely to be the thing that people remember most from a first meeting.
The good news is that you can have an attractive smile, even if you need dentures. Quality dentures are available that can give you a natural-looking smile that is stable and gives you great confidence.
Not only do FOY Dentures® make your smile look great, but they can remove years of age from your face, helping you look and feel younger for tackling that tough account, presentation, or even a gala ball.
